A force sensor (30) i.e. strain gauge (31), comprises a pressure or traction deformation sensitive sensor (35). An attachment location is chosen such that a deformation causable tensile load is arranged at the location and acts on the dome element during operation of a trailer (92) to actuate the force sensor. Deformation causable vertical load (Fz) of the trailer acts on the coupling to actuate the force sensor. Pressure or traction deformation sensitive sensor is designed as a pressure sensor. An independent claim is also included for a method for determining an attachment location of a force sensor at a trailer coupling for a towing vehicle.",
