Fuel filter

The filter (1) has at least one wire gauze element (6) downstream of the filter element (3) in its housing (2) for particulate filtering of the fuel. There is a receptacle (15) under the wire gauze element on the filter housing. Precipitated water droplets collect in this receptacle. There is a device to divert the fuel between the filter element and the wire gauze element.
