The blank holder (1) has two upright side walls (2) which are formed from thin-walled steel sheet. The upper sides (3) in the portions of longitudinal center (4) of upright side walls, are bridged with a transverse beam (5) having a screw hole (6), so that inverted U shaped cross section is formed. The fork-like openings are formed between end portions (9,12) of side walls, and lower surfaces (7) of the side walls are provided with forehead ends (8) as clamping surfaces.
