The invention describes a power cell (1) for deepwater application comprising an power cell housing (2), a capacitor bank (3), an electronic module (4), and input/output connectors (5,6), wherein the power cell housing (2) is essentially made of an insulating material. The invention further describes a power cell system (100) comprising a number of replaceable power cells (1) according to any of claims 1 to 9, a frame (20) for supporting the power cells (1), and electric connections, in particular a busbar arrangement (18) for connecting to the power cell.
