The skylight unit (20) has a common drive motor that is provided for the shift of a lid portion (30) between closing position and open position and for the shift of a cover element between function position and non-functioning position. A covering portion for the movement of lid portion is arranged in a lid guide rail. A shading strand for the movement of cover element is located in a shading guide rail. The covering portion and the shading strand are connected with the drive motor and are driven by the motor with different velocities.
