Compressor diffuser plate

A diffuser plate (390) for a centrifugal compressor includes an inner edge (396) disposed at an inner diameter about a central axis; an outer edge (391) disposed at an outer diameter, the outer edge (391) displaced an axial distance from the inner edge (396); a deformable section that includes a substantially S-shaped cross-section, the deformable section disposed between the inner edge (396) and the outer edge (391); and a spring constant for forced axial displacement of the outer edge (391) with respect to the inner edge (396), the spring constant characterized, at least in part, by the deformable section.
