Headlamp for a motor vehicle

The headlight (10) has multiple light sources, where the lighting sources are arranged in a matrix with two perpendicular directions of extension (18,20). A value of the luminance is adjusted individually for each of the lamps. The value of the luminance of the light source is adjustable depending on a position of the light source along one of the directions of extension of a given distribution function (24) that is a normal discretised distribution. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a motor vehicle with an assistance system; and (2) a method for operating a headlight.
