Disclosed is a metal-air battery which can have larger charge-discharge capacity compared to those of conventional metal-air batteries. The metal-air battery (1) comprises a negative electrode (2) comprising one metal selected from the group consisting of Li, Zn, Mg, Al and Fe, a positive electrode (3) comprising a mixture of a carbon material and an oxygen storage material, and an electrolyte arranged between the negative electrode (2) and the positive electrode (3). A separator (4) is impregnated with the electrolyte. The negative electrode (2) comprises metal Li. The oxygen storage material comprises a composite oxide of yttrium and manganese. Preferably, the oxygen storage material has a hexagonal structure.
