An inverter (2) including a switch circuit (31) for converting a DC power to output an AC voltage between a first output terminal (A) and a second output terminal (B) is provided. The switch circuit (31) includes a first switch branch (312) having a first switch element (S 1 ), a second switch element (S 2 ), and a third switch element (S 3 ); a second switch branch (313) having a fourth switch element (S 4 ), a fifth switch element (S 5 ), and a sixth switch element (S 6 ); a first freewheeling unit (310) connected to the first switch element (S 1 ), the second switch element (S 2 ), and the second output terminal (B) for providing a freewheeling path between the second output terminal (B) and the first switch element (S 1 ) and the second switch element (S 2 ); and a second freewheeling unit (311) connected to the fourth switch element (S 4 ) and the fifth switch element (S 5 ) and the first output terminal (A) for providing a freewheeling path between the first output terminal (A) and the fourth switch element (S 4 ) and the fifth switch element (S 5 ).
