A rechargeable battery (100) including: an electrode assembly (10); a case (26) in which the electrode assembly is embedded; a cap plate (20) coupled to an opening of the case; and a lower insulating member (60) and an electrode current collecting member (50) that are installed in the case, wherein the electrode current collecting member (50) is provided with a fuse part including a fuse hole and the fuse part is installed with an elastic structure (90) made of an elastic material. This elastic structure (90) maintains a distance so that fractured surfaces of the fuse part formed when the fuse part is fused or fractured due to overcurrent are not electrically connected to each other and arcing does not occur.
