An asynchronous machine (7) is connected parallel to the output of the inverter and driven by an internal combustion engine (9) i.e. diesel engine. A battery (27) is connected parallel to the input terminals of the inverter. A control and regulating unit (25) is connected with the engine via a control line. The generator is disconnected from the inverter by another switching device (30).",
