The fuel injector has a control valve for actuating a valve chamber (11) by an actuator in a controlled manner, where the valve chamber is connected with a control chamber (13) cooperating with a valve pin (15). The valve chamber is connected to a high-pressure fuel system through an inlet channel (20) that is provided with a throttle, where the throttle is switched by switching valve pin (1) of the switching valve. The throttle is opened in the closed switching valve and is formed as an inlet throttle (21), while another throttle is formed as an outlet throttle (22).
