Navigation device and method including a plurality of hybrid inertial navigation systems

DRIVE January 2, 2013
Source
The device has an auxiliary sensor (Det1) for delivering an auxiliary signal, and a set of hybridized navigation systems (INH1, INH2). Each navigation system comprises an inertial measurement unit, and computers (CALC-H1, CALC-H2) that is utilized to hybridize a signal representative of an initial measurement of the auxiliary signal to form a hybridized signal. A detection module is utilized to calculate a weighted hybridized signal (DATAOPT) based on hybridized signals (DATA1, DATA2) and respective weights of each hybridized navigation system. An independent claim is also included for a method for navigation of a vehicle.
