POWER CONVERSION APPARATUS

DRIVE December 26, 2012
Source
Provided is a power converter that is capable of ensuring a necessary conduction current without expanding the configuration of a DC voltage conversion circuit such as a DC chopper. Power can be supplied from both a DC chopper (6) and a voltage source rectifier (4) converting AC power into DC power, to a voltage source inverter (8). The voltage source rectifier (4) has an upper arm part (4H) and a lower arm part (4L) having switching elements. The voltage source rectifier (4) converts AC power obtained from an alternator (3) into DC power, performs a DC chopper operation using the upper and lower arms thereof and a winding wire of the alternator (3), and supplies power of a DC power source (5) to the voltage source inverter (8).
