A disc brake apparatus with an electric parking mechanism includes an electric motor, a worm reduction gear and a thrust generation mechanism. A worm wheel of this worm reduction gear is supported on part of a rotational member which makes up the thrust generation mechanism concentrically with the rotational member and so as to rotate together with the rotational member. A worm of the worm reduction gear has worm teeth which are provided on part of the worm in an axial direction and is supported rotatably inside a casing of the worm reduction gear in such a state that the worm teeth are in mesh engagement with the worm wheel. In order to enable the transmission of a rotational force of an output of the electric motor to the worm, a drive side gearwheel and a driven side gearwheel are caused to mesh with each other directly or by way of another gearwheel. The drive side gearwheel is provided on the output shaft of the electric motor concentrically with this output shaft and so as to rotate together therewith. The driven side gearwheel is provided on part of the worm concentrically with the worm and so as to rotate together therewith.
