Filter element and fuel filter

The filter element (1) has a filter body (3) with a filter material (5) e.g. filter paper, arranged in foldings (4) of the filter material. An electric heating element (6) for fuel is arranged between two foldings. The heating element is arranged on an unclean side (7) of the filter body. The heating element has a differential pressure sensor (9) for detecting differential pressure between the unclean side and a clean side (8) of the body. The heating element is provided in a filter housing (2) of a fuel filter (10).
