Suspension bearing with mounting tabs
DRIVE
December 5, 2012
The stop (10) has a lower support part (16) for transmitting efforts exerted by a coil spring (12) to a bearing (14) i.e. roller bearing. A protective cover (18) delimits a housing i.e. annular cavity, with the support part for the bearing. The cover includes a tubular inner sleeve (52) fitted on a cylindrical portion (62) of a metal interface part (64) and defines a geometric reference axis of the cover. The cover is provided with elastic tabs (56) protruding radially toward the axis. The cover is elastically deformed in a radial manner when the sleeve is fitted on the cylindrical portion. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a bump stop to a body of a vehicle.
