The plant (1) has a heat reservoir (11) arranged in a secondary circuit (13), which is separated from a pipeline (4) of a pipeline system (3) by a heat exchanger (14). Compressed air flows on a primary side, and heat transfer liquid flows on a secondary side through the system. A locking unit (27) temporarily locks a part of the secondary circuit between a heat storage unit (12) and the heat exchanger. The heat transfer fluid is made to temporarily flow through the exchanger when the compressed air flows through the primary side. A turbo-machine (8) condenses and/or expands the compressed air.
