Lighting device of storage compartment for scooter type vehicles

A lighting device (20) of a storage compartment (30) for scooter type vehicles. The storage compartment (30) has a top opening (31), a pivot joint portion (32) is disposed at the storage compartment (30) and is connected to a rider seat (40) which is capable of being turned with the pivot joint portion (32) as an axis. When the rider seat (40) is pivoted to a closing position (A), a bottom plate (41) covers the top opening (31), and when the rider seat (40) is pivoted to an opening position (13), the bottom plate (41) moves away from the top opening (31). A distance sensing switch unit (50) and a lighting unit (60) are disposed inside the storage compartment (30), in which the distance sensing switch unit (50) includes a distance sensor (51) and a power supply switch (52). The distance sensor (51) detects a change of a distance between the distance sensors (51) and the bottom plate (41), so that the power supply switch (52) is switched on to enable the lighting unit (60) to light.
