A method of packaging an airbag

There is disclosed a method of packaging an airbag (5) for use in a motor vehicle safety arrangement. The method comprising the steps of: providing an airbag (5) formed of flexible sheet material (1), the airbag defining an inflatable volume and being generally elongate in form having first and second ends (9, 10) opposed along a longitudinal axis (6), the first end (9) being closed and the second end (10) having an inlet aperture (11) for fluid connection to an inflator (15). The method is characterised by an initial folding step in which a peripheral re-entrant fold (21) is created between said first and second ends (9, 10) by urging the first end (9) of the airbag inwardly towards the second end (10) of the airbag along the longitudinal axis (6).
