A first carcass ply (14) is wrapped around each bead core (11) and has a first pair of carcass ply turnup portions (14A) substantially contiguous with the first carcass ply (14) from the bead core (11) to radially outer ends (14B) of the first pair of carcass ply turnup portion (14A). The first carcass ply (14) comprises a first non-metallic cord (110) with a construction of 1300-2500 denier/2 with 7-15/7-15 turns per 2.54 cm (tpi). A second carcass ply (12) is radially adjacent to the first carcass ply (14) and wrapped around each bead core (11). It has a second pair of carcass ply turnup portions (12A) substantially contiguous with the second carcass ply (12) from the bead core (11) to radially outer ends (12B) of the second pair of carcass ply turnup portions. The second carcass ply (12) has a second non-metallic cord with a construction of 900-1200 denier/2 with 9-15/9-15 turns per 2.54 cm (tpi).",
