The measuring device (3) has a beam source (25) which is formed as electro-optical component and a laser beam that emits along an optical axis (31). A beam splitting optical system (28) is provided to deflect the laser beam or a receiving beam. An optical carrier (23) is provided with a receiver (35) for fastening the electro-optical component and another receiver (36) for fastening a beam shaping optical system (27). The optical carrier is monolithically formed and is formed as pressure cast part made of zinc or zinc alloy.
