Thermal and acoustic shield for a motor vehicle exhaust line
DRIVE
November 14, 2012
The shield (1) has a rectilinear portion (13) in a form of inverted gutter comprising lateral sides (2), where each side of the gutter is delimited by a rectilinear bottom edge (3). An inner thermal reflection sheet made of aluminum and an acoustic absorption porous layer are associated in a superposed manner. Outer side strips protect the porous layer against water. Each strip covers the side of the gutter from the edge until a preset height. A middle zone of the porous layer is not covered by the strips. An outer sheet made of aluminum is sealingly associated against the porous layer.
