A mobile terminal (100) including a wireless communication unit (110) configured to wirelessly communicate using at least two different communication systems; a display unit (151) including a backlight configured to apply light to a display screen of the display unit; a sensing unit (140) configured to measure a temperature of the mobile terminal (100) if the at least two different communication systems are simultaneously used; and a controller (180) configured to adjust a brightness of the backlight based on the measured temperature and a preset temperature.
