Tyre chain with retaining means and rolling body

The tire chain (1) has an annular stretched traction section (3) which is assigned a tread surface (4) of the vehicle tire, and a holding section (6) adjacent to the traction section in an axial direction. The holding section is assigned a flank of the vehicle tire and has a traction-shaped holding unit (8). A rolling body rotatable around a longitudinal direction (L) of the holding unit is held on the holding unit. The rolling body stays in rolling contact with the flank in mounted condition of the tire chain.
