The present invention also provides a negative electrode material for use in a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery and a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery using the negative electrode active material. As a result, there is provided a method for manufacturing a negative electrode active material for use in a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which high battery capacity given by the silicon-based active material is maintained and a volume expansion and a break in the active material are suppressed.",
