Lighting device for a motor vehicle with light guiding elements

The device has a light source (2) and plate-shaped light guiding elements (3), where a frame (1) holds the light guiding elements such that the light guide elements lay perpendicular to a common straight line. The light source is coupled at an edge of the frame such that light from the light source is reflected and directed outward by the light guide elements. The frame includes rail sections into which the light guide elements are inserted. Each light guide element includes a transparent plate incorporated with structural elements (4).
