Turbocharger

The turbocharger (1) has a compressor (2) i.e. scroll compressor, to compress the charge air to be supplied to an internal combustion engine (7), and a turbine (3) driven by an exhaust gas stream of the engine. A connection line (9) directly supplies a portion of the compressed charge air to the turbine. The connection line branches off downstream of the compressor from a charge air line (5) and joins upstream of the turbine into an exhaust line (8), so that the connection line bypasses the engine, where the connection line is made of metal, ceramic material or elastic material.
