The present disclosure provides a silicon-based composite and a preparation method thereof, an anode material, and a lithium ion battery. The silicon-based composite includes a ferro-silicon alloy core layer, a first coating layer, and a second coating layer, with the first coating layer being coated on the outer surface of the ferro-silicon alloy core layer, and the second coating layer being coated on the outer surface of the first coating layer away from the ferro-silicon alloy core layer; wherein the material of the first coating layer includes carbon and the material of the second coating layer includes an oxide.
