Suspension system (3) for a chassis (2) of a vehicle extending along a longitudinal axis (A), the suspension system (3) comprising an elastic element (4) extending along a transverse axis (B) transversal to the longitudinal axis (A) and comprising an intermediate portion (4') and a pair of end portions (4") along the transverse axis (B), the suspension system (3) further comprising a connection system (5) configured to connect the end portions (4'') to respective first and second elements (2') of the chassis (2), the connection system (5) connecting the ends (4'') so as to vary the contact distance of the elastic element (4) as a function of the load acting on it.
