MATERIAL PROCESSING APPARATUS WITH IMPROVED HYBRID POWER SYSTEM

A mobile material processing apparatus comprises a hydraulic circuit with a first hydraulic pump for powering the tracks. The hydraulic pump is coupled to an internal combustion engine by a hydraulically operated clutch. The clutch is operated by a hydraulic circuit that includes an electrically powered hydraulic pump powered by an electrical power supply system. When it is not required to move the apparatus using the tracks, the clutch is disengaged to prevent the first hydraulic pump from passively pumping oil without providing useful work.
