The controller is also adapted to determine a lane quality along the planned path with at least one optical sensor on the host vehicle and determine a first target point and a second target point based at least one on the attributes of the targets when the lane quality has degraded below a predetermined threshold. Furthermore, the controller is adapted to calculate a follow trajectory for the host vehicle based on the first and second target points and direct the host vehicle along the follow trajectory when a lane marker identification distance is less than a minimum look ahead distance for the host vehicle.",
