A Powertrain for a Work Machine

The present disclosure relates to a powertrain for a work machine (). The powertrain () comprises a first prime mover (), a second prime mover (), a set of first gears (), a set of second gears (), an engaging unit (), and an actuator (). The first prime mover () configured to engage a first shaft (). The second prime mover () configured to engage a power take off (PTO) shaft (). The first gears () mounted on the first shaft () and the second gears () mounted on the PTO shaft (). The actuator () configured to be in communication with the engaging unit (), and further configured to selectively displace the engaging unit () from the idling configuration to the engaging configuration to engage with one of the second gears (). Advantageously, the engaging unit () facilitates the coupling of the second prime mover () with the first prime mover (); therefore the powertrain () provides the desired torque to meet the requirements.
