Bed slat stowing system and method

There is provided a bed slat stowing system comprising a bed frame having a bed portion and a stowing portion, a pair of opposed channels extending between the bed portion and the stowing portion, and a plurality of slats arranged to be movably joined to the channels such that the slats are able to move along the channels. In the bed portion, each slat is provided in an in-use orientation, and in the stowing portion, each slat is provided in a stowing orientation. Each slat is pivotally joined to the channels such that the slat is rotatable relative to the channels between the in-use and stowing orientations. Also provided is a slat end cap having a mouth arranged to receive a bed slat, and a pivot member arranged to be movably and pivotally joined to a channel.
