A wet solar cell (1) includes a substrate (2) having a light-receiving surface, a seal portion (11) disposed opposite to the substrate (2), a first electrode (3) formed on the top surface of a side of the substrate (2) that is opposite to the seal portion (11), an insulating frame (10) disposed between the first electrode (3) and the seal portion (11) to surround four sides so that a space is formed inside the insulating frame, a photoelectric conversion portion (5) formed on a top surface of the first electrode (3), and a second electrode (9) formed to extend toward the seal portion (11) from a top surface of another first electrode (3) adjacent to the first electrode (3) and having a top surface partially located opposite to the seal portion (11). In the space, a gap communicating with the portion between the insulating frame (10) and the photoelectric conversion portion (5) is formed between the second electrode (9) and the seal portion (11). This configuration enables the whole of the solar cell to be filled sufficiently with an electrolytic solution in a short time, and improvement of the photovoltaic performance of the solar cell (1).
