The holder (2a) has recesses and/or projections cooperating with recesses and/or projections of an adjacent holder, where the holder is made of plastic. A set of frame walls (6a) is arranged on entire boundary edges of both sides of a base wall (5a) and protrudes from the base wall, where the base wall and the frame walls enclose sides of a rechargeable battery cell (3). The base wall or the frame walls is/are adapted for a point and/or narrow type contact with the cell, where the base wall and the frame walls are integrated as a one-piece component. An independent claim is also included for a battery.
