The system has a force restoring system (300) installed on a steering control member i.e. steering wheel (100), of a vehicle comprising an assistance motor (310) to restore torque to the member. A pair of determination units determines driver control and vehicle speed. A third determination unit determines torque to be restored to the member based on outer forces exerted on the vehicle and the speed and a fourth determination unit determines another torque based on the speed and the control. Torque setpoint to be restored to the member is a function of torques to be restored to the member. An independent claim is also included for a method for implementing an uncoupled steering control system of a vehicle.
