Method and system for seat belt retraction speed control

A method and a system for seat belt retraction speed control are presented. The system comprises a seat belt to be retracted being provided with a seat belt webbing, and a tongue and a buckle for fastening the seat belt when in use, and a seat belt webbing spool for storing the seat belt. The seat belt webbing spool is arranged to rotate in a belt withdrawal direction and in an opposite belt retraction direction. The system further comprises a biasing arrangement for biasing the seat belt webbing spool for retraction of the seat belt webbing. A sensing device for sensing the speed of the seat belt webbing are comprised,and arranged to detect if the speed exceeds a predetermined threshold value. The system further comprisesan electrical driving arrangement arranged to control the speed of the seat belt webbing.
