Cover for a sliding roof system

The cover (5) has a U-shaped cross-sectional reinforcing member (30) i.e. profile rail, connected to a middle leg on the cover, so that two side legs are extended away from the cover. The reinforcing element is glued to the cover and embedded into a foam part (36) i.e. frame, which is mounted on the cover. A guiding rail (20) is positive-fittingly connected with the reinforcing element and with a base part and two cranked guide bars that extend in directions opposite to each other, where the cover is made of glass and plastic materials. An independent claim is also included for a sliding roof system comprising an opening mechanism.
