A fuel cell device having improved durability. A fuel cell device is provided with: a cell stack (1) contained within a storage container (23); an oxygen-containing gas from the outside of the storage container (23) to the fuel cells within the storage container (23); a supply power regulation section (9) for regulating the amount of electric power generation in the cell stack (1); a temperature sensor (22) disposed outside the storage container (23) and measuring the temperature of the oxygen-containing gas supplied to the fuel cells; and a control device (10) for controlling each of the oxygen-containing gas supply section (3) and the supply power regulation section (9). When the temperature of the oxygen-containing gas measured by the temperature sensor (22) is higher than a predetermined temperature, the control device (10) performs control so that the amount of the oxygen-containing gas supplied by the oxygen-containing gas supply section (3) increases. The configuration improves the durability of the fuel cell device.
