A computing system may receive radar imagery corresponding to an environment of the vehicle and estimate weather conditions for the environment by using a weather estimation model. The computing system may then determine, based on the estimated weather conditions for the environment, weather-related attenuation effects on the radar imagery and correct the radar imagery by removing the weather-related attenuation effects. The corrected radar imagery can be used for object detection and tracking, which can assist a control system of the vehicle. In some cases, the system may determine that the operational range of the radar system is temporarily reduced and responsively decrease the vehicle's speed until weather conditions improve.",
