Cabin rear-view mirror with display screen for lane changing

The mirror has a mirror section (S), and an environment detection sensor e.g. rear view sensor, for detecting surrounding data about a part of lateral and/or rearward surrounding of a vehicle, and a lane changing detector for detecting beginning of lane change of the vehicle. A display section (A1) is provided for displaying an image of the lateral and/or rearward surrounding of the vehicle, where the image is formed based on the detected surrounding data. An image processing device is connected with the mirror in a signal-technical manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for assisting a driver of a vehicle.
