At a time of a side collision, a side airbag (24) receives a supply of gas and deploys between a passenger (28) and a vehicle body side portion (30), and an upper bag portion (16) restrains from a head portion (28H) to a shoulder portion (28S), and a lower bag portion (18) restrains a waist portion (28W), and an intermediate portion (22), that connects a lower edge portion (16L) of the upper bag portion (16) and an upper edge portion (18U) of the lower bag portion (18), restrains a chest portion (28C). Load, that is imparted toward a vehicle transverse direction inner side from the upper bag portion (16) to the shoulder portion (28S) of the passenger (28) at this time, decreases at a latter stage of restraint of the shoulder portion (28S) by the upper bag portion (16), and therefore, an amount of movement of the shoulder portion (28S) toward a vehicle transverse direction inner side is suppressed to an appropriate degree.",
