The high-pressure pump has a pump piston and a plunger assembly that has a roller partially arranged in a roller shoe (16). The roller shoe is formed with elongated holes (20,20'). The elongated holes in the roller shoe are arranged substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the roller.
