Pneumatic tire and method of mounting transponder to pneumatic tire

A pneumatic tire on which a transponder is mounted, characterized in that a securing member for securing the transponder is fixed to an inner surface of the tire in an area between a maximum-width position of the tire and a bead toe, wherein the securing member is formed of at least one string-shaped projection member for securing a transponder having at least one through hole, wherein the string-shaped projection member is formed of thermoplastic elastomer, and the string-shaped projection portion is deformed by heating after being passed through the through hole of the transponder.
