A guiding apparatus (1) configured to be mounted in a vehicle, and comprising: a vehicle current-position detecting unit (10); a vehicle-speed detecting unit (11); an object-information storage unit (14b) that stores guidance output time information used for determining time required to provide guidance with respect to an object of interest; an object-candidate retrieving unit (13a) that determines a guidance point, at which a driver needs guidance, on the basis of the detected current position of the vehicle and that retrieves a candidate for the object of interest existing on the periphery of the determined guidance point; a recognizable-range estimating unit (13b) that determines a guidance distance required to provide guidance with respect to the candidate on the basis of the detected vehicle speed and the guidance output time information corresponding to the retrieved candidate and that estimates a recognizable range of the driver after the vehicle travels the determined guidance distance; an object retrieving unit (13c) that retrieves the object of interest from the candidate existing in the recognizable range estimated by the recognizable-range estimating unit (13b); and a guidance control unit (13d) that performs control for providing guidance with respect to the object of interest retrieved by the object retrieving unit (13c).
