The battery cell further includes a gas adsorber having a gas adsorbent material. The gas adsorbent material is selected to react with at least one offgas that includes a gas phase cycling byproduct produced when cycling the battery cell to form a compound having a solid phase under a cycling temperature and a cycling pressure of the battery cell.",
