The airbag defines an inflatable volume for the receipt of inflating gas, and is divided into two chambers (17, 18), both of which are configured for inflation by said inflating gas upon deployment of the airbag. The chambers are hingedly interconnected such that one chamber (18) is hingedly moveable relative to other chamber (17) when the airbag is substantially fully inflated. In a preferred arrangement the two chambers (17, 18) are both formed from flexible sheet material and are interconnected by a seam (8) formed between opposing layers or sheets (2, 3) of said material, the seam (8) defining a notional hinge about which the one chamber (18) is moveable relative to the other chamber (17) when the airbag is inflated.",
