The vehicle seat (10) is provided with a seat occupancy switch (22), where a lower suspension with multiple spring bars (16) is arranged below a seat cushion (12). The seat occupancy switch is arranged in the area of spring bars and underside of the seat cushion. A slide surface (34) is provided at the spring bars of the lower suspension or is connected with the spring bars of the lower suspension.
