Powerplant of an aircraft, aircraft and method for piloting said aircraft

The power plant (2) has a control unit (5) with a memory (6), where the memory containing information enabling the engine to be operated in accordance with two distinct utilization envelopes during a maximum number of flying hours. An envelope enables takeoff to be optimized from a platform, and another envelope enables takeoff to be optimized from takeoff zones that do not include platforms. A pilot-operable selector unit (10) is connected to the control unit to enable the pilot to select the utilization envelope. An independent claim is also included for a method for piloting an aircraft provided with a power plant.
